Do you own a car? Is there enough parking at your household? What can Richmond Hill do to make your commute easier?
Current and potential future Richmond Hill residents are invited answer parking-related questions to help the city plan for policies accommodating new developments for the years to come.
The city has launched an online survey to seek feedback from residents about parking space requirements for new developments.
The input will help inform decisions about effective parking management practices for the city in order to promote sustainable transportation choices and help to reduce car dependency.
The survey is open to all residents across the greater Toronto area until March 15, and those who complete it will have a chance to win one of eight, $25 gift cards.
The public input will help the city form a parking and transportation demand management strategy as an update to its parking strategy draft report approved in 2010.
The strategy seeks to align parking-related development policy with the city’s vision of building a "new form of urban, affordable and transit-oriented" community.
Richmond Hill councillors endorsed getting around the city as one of four key priorities for the rest of 2018-2022 council term.
Council is expected to prioritize promoting Richmond Hill’s multiple transportation interconnections, advocating for the Yonge subway extension and improving active transportation networks for cyclists and pedestrians.
