You have may have noticed a giant tarp on Holland River Boulevard in Holland Landing. The big reveal is that the town is retrofitting a pumping station.

JUST THE FACTS:

• The town is currently retrofitting the existing sanitary pumping station at 68 Holland River Blvd.

• The tarping of the project is to protect the work site from weather during construction.

• Built in the 1970s, the major equipment at the sewage pumping station, such as pumps and electrical controls, are at the end of their useful life and the station no longer complies with the town’s standards for sanitary pumping stations.

• Although the construction site seems quite large the completed project will result in a smaller footprint.
• The project is expected to be completed by June 2021.
