King-Vaughan MPP Stephen Lecce hosted a virtual event with Dr. Karim Kurji, chief medical officer of health for York Region and Robin Martin, MPP for Eglinton-Lawrence, to speak with seniors about the COVID-19 vaccine and to address any questions they had.

Lecce’s office also launched a vaccination distribution notification alert for constituents of King-Vaughan. Residents can go to www.stephenleccempp.ca or call the office at 647-560-9700 to sign up.

The notification alerts residents when they are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.

“While we await further vaccines from the federal government, and more is on the way, I was proud to partner with York Region’s medical officer of health to speak to seniors directly and assure them that the vaccine is safe and that everyone that wants a vaccine will receive one,” Lecce said in a statement.

Lecce said there is a sense of “cautious optimism” that the end of the pandemic is near, with over one million vaccine doses administered as of March 10.
