Vaughan Muslim women discuss ‘Does a Creator Exist’ on International Women’s Day
The interfaith dialogue brought in Jewish, Christian and Hindu women

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association hosted a virtual interfaith event for women on Sunday, March 7, and discussed “Does a Creator Exist” to commemorate International Women’s Day.
The event, which brought together women from all different beliefs for interfaith dialogue, saw an attendance of more than 200 women as well as local officials from Vaughan Council and representatives from York Regional Police and the York Region District School Board.
Guest speakers included Laya Witty, a lawyer representing Judaism; Dr. Ragini Sharma representing Hinduism; Reverend Emma Pipes representing Christianity and Dr. Alia Raheem representing Islam.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association is an auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. This group of women, known as Lajna, are engaged in community service and outreach throughout the year.
