The global COVID-19 pandemic is having far-reaching effects in Toronto, including major impacts on what have been booming real estate and building industries. As a means to keep the public in the loop about the shutdowns, we'll be sharing information and status updates from around the industry on a regular basis.

As York Region -- and Vaughan -- enters the Red-Control level of the Province of Ontario’s COVID-19 response framework, the City continues to work closely with all levels of government to monitor and respond to the global pandemic. The health and well-being of citizens and staff remains the priority.

Each level of government has different roles and responsibilities in helping to break the chain of transmission of this virus. 

The City of Vaughan is responsible for --

Many resources are available for people to stay informed and learn more about the different roles and responsibilities of the municipal, regional, provincial and federal governments in an emergency. The City has created a graphic to help break this information down for citizens who are looking for assistance from the government.

The City’s By-law and Compliance, Licensing and Permit Services department is actively enforcing provincial COVID-19 regulations, including Ontario Regulation 263/20 -- Rules for Areas in Stage 2 / Red Control Zone as amended, with York Regional Police and York Region Public Health. To report infractions in Vaughan, contact Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281 or accessvaughan@vaughan.ca. All recorded cases will be directed to By-law for investigation in priority sequence.
