The Town of Newmarket has opened the main lobby at the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex to be used as a warming facility due to cold temperatures.
The facility, located at 100 Eagle St. W., can be used as a warming facility Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until further notice.
The rest of the building remains closed, and a maximum capacity of 10 people is in place in accordance with regulations set out by public health and the province.
Residents who are using the warming facility must follow public health guidelines by staying at least six feet away from others using the facility at all times.
Residents will be screened by staff when they arrive and asked to sanitize their hands and wear a mask/face covering before entering. Disposable masks will be provided if you do not have one.
