Prepare to get busy again, at least for one day.

The GTA is expecting a decent dump of snow starting the morning of Jan. 26 as a Texas low arrives in southern Ontario and moves across the region, according to Environment Canada.

Between 5 and 10 cm are expected in some parts of the GTA starting between 8 and 9 a.m.

The snow is expected to fall heavily but most likely in southern parts of York Region by mid-to-late morning, and possibly continue into the afternoon.

Lesser amounts are expected in the northern municipalities of York Region.

Winds and gusts of up to more than 40 km/h are also expected.

Daytime temperatures are expected to reach -3 C for a high, with a wind chill factor of -12 C.

The most recent significant snowfall in York Region occurred on Christmas Day.

There is a 30-per-cent chance Jan.27’s weather may include snow flurries. Temperatures are expected to be slightly below seasonal norms for the remainder of the week.

Travellers are advised to plan ahead, limit themselves to essential travel and adjust to road conditions.
