Shoppers Drug Mart employees in Georgina, Vaughan test positive for COVID-19

Positive COVID-19 tests among retail workers deemed essential continue in York Region.

The latest to test positive are Shoppers Drug Mart employees in Georgina and Vaughan.

An employee tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19 at the Shoppers located on 20917 Dalton Rd., Sutton. The last day the team member worked was Jan 13.

An employee also tested positive for COVID-19 at the Shoppers location at 5100 Rutherford Rd., Vaughan. The last day the employee worked was Jan. 11.

According to the Loblaws COVID-19 policy, the company is prepared for all possible situations, including a positive test for COVID-19 in its stores.

In these cases, the store works closely with public health and follows its guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization of the store.
