Newmarket’s Alexander Muir Public School reported a new case of COVID-19 on Dec. 21, with two confirmed cases in total.
Two Markham schools have new cases.
Bill Crothers Secondary School reported one new case and has three confirmed cases in total and David Suzuki Public School also has a new confirmed case.
Brownridge Public School in Thornhill has a new case of the virus.
Three schools in Vaughan have new cases.
Dr. Roberta Bondar Public School of York Region District School Board has a new case. Two Catholic board public schools, St. Andrew Catholic Elementary School and St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Elementary School, each have a confirmed case and a closed classroom.
In Georgina, Keswick High School has a new case while W. J. Watson Public School reported another case of the virus, bringing its total of confirmed cases to three.
Holy Name Catholic Elementary School in King City has two new cases and two classrooms have been closed.
York Region Public Health says it will communicate directly with those who had contact with the cases. York Region District School Board and York Catholic District School Board will make sure that all appropriate measures are being taken.

Public Health reminds students and families not to enter school if they are feeling sick or have had close contact with a confirmed case or with someone who is showing symptoms of COVID-19.
