Feeling Grey? You likely will starting Monday morning.

With the announcement Dec. 11 by the Ontario government that York Region is entering the Grey-lockdown zone for 28 days starting Dec. 14, the Town of Aurora has provided guidelines for citizens to follow.

A statement released Friday night said municipal buildings, including recreational facilities, and programs will be closed and cancelled beginning at 12:01 a.m.

The delivery of community services from the municipality will continue as normal operation.

Lockdown restrictions require that restaurants, bars, and food and drink establishments will only be able to provide takeout, drive-through and delivery.

Indoor and outdoor dining services are prohibited and personal care services will be closed.

“Our small businesses will be required to shut their doors to the public, offering only curbside pickup,” said Aurora Mayor Tom Mrakas in the statement. “The impact on our local businesses will be immeasurable, especially during the holiday season, so I encourage residents who are able to order takeout, shop online locally and help support our businesses.”
