A medical office building may come to the northwest corner of Yonge Street and Brookside Road in Richmond Hill.

JUST THE FACTS:

Who: Brookside Castle Corporation, located at 5 Long Hill Dr., Richmond Hill, owns the subject lands.

Where: 24 Brookside Rd., Richmond Hill

What: The landowner looks to build a five-storey medical office building with ground floor retail uses on the 0.59-hectare (1.46 acres) lands, with 68 parking spaces.

How: The city received a request this January for approval regarding a zoning bylaw amendment application to permit the construction of the proposed building. The proposal, first put forward in 2014, has been revised twice after receiving comments from the public. The size has been reduced from seven to five storeys.

What next: Council failed to make a decision at the Nov. 25 meeting on the proposal. Staff are expected to continue to review the application and bring it back to council.
