Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus, right down Santa Claus lane.

Bells are ringin', children singin', all is merry and bright.

Although this year’s Santa Claus parade has been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, the jolly old elf still wants to see Newmarket boys and girls. But only from the comfort of your car.

On Nov. 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the town is holding Santa Claus Lane in the south parking lots of the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex at 100 Eagle St. W.

It will be a short, quick, drive-thru event for families to get into the holiday spirit, give a chance for kids to see Santa on his float and drop off a letter to Santa.

It will take about five to 10 minutes to drive through depending on traffic.

From the safety of your vehicle, enjoy some busker-style holiday entertainment, music and decor with a drive-thru Santa appearance at the end.

There will not be any community floats this year due to decreased gathering limits.

Cash donations will also be accepted for the Newmarket Food Pantry.

Santa Claus Lane is free, but you must pre-register.

The event is open to Newmarket residents only.

Walk-ups/walk-throughs are not permitted and non-registered vehicles won’t be allowed in.
