Richmond Hill, Markham, Maple, Stouffville schools have new cases of COVID-19

74 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in YRDSB, 26 cases in YCDSB as of Nov. 9

Moraine Hills Public School in Richmond reported two new cases of COVID-19 and Richmond Green Secondary School reported one Nov. 9.

Six schools in Markham -- David Suzuki Public School, James Robinson Public School, Middlefield Collegiate Institute, Pierre Elliot Trudeau High School, Sam Chapman Public School and Sir John A. Macdonald Public School -- also reported new confirmed cases of the virus.

Meanwhile Discovery Public School in Maple and Wendat Village Public School in Stouffville each reported one new case over the weekend.

All of these schools remain open. Public Health will communicate directly with those who had contact with the cases. York Region District School Board says all appropriate measures are being taken.

York Region Public Health reminds students and families not to enter school if they are feeling sick or have had close contact with a confirmed case or with someone who is showing symptoms of COVID-19.
