Health professionals needed in York Region

Nurses, epidemiologists and health inspectors can watch live online session

Are you a health care professional looking to make a difference in York Region?

The Region of York is offering a live online session today to learn about opportunities in Public Health with information on how the region is responding to COVID-19 and how it is working to support the health of the community.

Dr. Karachiwalla, Associate Medical Officer of Health, says the region is looking to fill a variety of positions, each role with different responsibilities, many of which contribute to the COVID-19 response as well as other essential services.

“Without question, COVID-19 has increased the demand on public health’s resources,” Karachiwalla said. “York Region Public Health is not responsible for testing, but we are responsible for case investigation and contact management in York Region. Many of the career openings are to help support case and contact activities.”

The one-hour virtual career information session begins at noon Oct. 7 and is aimed at skilled public health professionals including nurses, epidemiologists and certified public health inspectors.
