Richmond Hill voters are expected to cast their ballots online for the York Region District School Board trustee for Wards 1, 2 and 4 in the upcoming byelection from 10 a.m. on Oct. 14 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2020.

It's going to be the first online voting conducted in Richmond Hill.

A total of 15 certified candidates from Richmond Hill, Markham, and Vaughan are vying for the seat left vacant by former trustee Corrie McBain.

A complete list of candidates can be found on the city's website.

The elected trustee will begin when they are sworn in to their office and will serve the rest of the present term, ending on Nov. 14, 2022.

Registered voters should have received their voter information packages by mail, which include a unique voter ID number and voting PIN number, along with instructions on how to cast a ballot using the online voting system.

Any eligible voter who has not received a package should check if they are on the voters’ list by:

Visiting RichmondHill.ca/RHVotes and selecting Voter Registration (available until 6 p.m. on Oct. 19) or

Calling the voter assistance helpline at 905-771-5555. Please do not share your voter ID or voting PIN number with anyone, including candidates.
