As Georgina is home to more than 50 kilometres of lake shore, what’s your vision for the town’s waterfront?

More parks and parking? More boat harbour space and marinas? More trails and public beach access?

Maybe it’s the addition of a public dock complete with kayak rentals and paddle boarding lessons?

Or maybe it’s both -- less public parking and more local resident parking?

Have your say on the town’s waterfront parks master plan.

The plan will look at a number of the town’s waterfront areas, including parks and harbours.

The town wants to hear your thoughts and visions for the waterfront multi-year plan.

The Planning Partnership, the consultant hired by the town to conduct the study, is hosting a number of virtual town halls Oct. 14 and 15 for residents to share concerns and offer ides.

Residents and stakeholders are required to register for the online sessions.

Those interested can register for as many virtual idea sessions as the would like, as each online session looks at a different park area.
The waterfront parks study is broken down into three phases over three years. It includes a deep dive into the current uses, future potential and how much those opportunities would cost for 11 different site along the water’s edge.

The scope of the study also includes a comprehensive list of all town-owned waterfront assets, including all wharves, piers, beaches, parks, road ends, shorelines, road allowances, eco-sensitive wetlands and rivers.

Here's a list of the online sessions and what park is to be discussed:
