Two highrise apartment buildings have been proposed in the northeast corner of one of Richmond Hill’s popular shopping destinations.

Two mixed-use rental apartment buildings -- 26 storeys and 29 storeys -- may take over the northeast portion of the parking lot where the now-closed Panera Bread restaurant use to sit.

JUST THE FACTS:

Who: Hillcrest Property Holdings Inc. and Montez Core Income Fund Limited

Where: 9350 Yonge St.

What: The high density residential development is comprised of two mixed-use rental apartment buildings that are 26 storeys and 29 storeys in height, 584 residential units, 575 parking spaces, a Gross Floor Area of 79,680 square metres (857,669 square feet), and an FSI of 4.73 on the subject lands.

How: The applicants have submit complete applications to amend the official plan and zoning bylaw for the subject lands.

What next: The applications have been circulated to city departments and external agencies for review and comment. A Council Public Meeting will be scheduled and held at a later date, with formal notice being provided pursuant to the statutory requirements of the Planning Act.
