Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, development is booming in York Region.
Development charge revenue in mid-year 2020 has skyrocketed 127 per cent higher than 2019's total ($45 million) to more than $102 million, according to the Mid-Year Development Activity Summary 2020 report providing an overview of York Region’s planning and development approvals.

Planning and development activity has continued during the pandemic as York Region has been able to process applications through YorkTrax, an online development approval system.
