Georgina cancels programs under modified Stage 2 COVID-19 restrictions

Swimming, outdoor recreation and online programs to continue

In response to the province’s expanded COVID-19 restrictions bringing York Region back into modified Stage 2, the town is cancelling all indoor, in-person fitness classes. Impacted users will be refunded.

The following programs will continue with safety protocols in place:

• All aquatic programming, private and adapted swim lessons
• Virtual recreation programs and events
• Outdoor in-person recreation programs
• Indoor athletic training permits (no scrimmage or competitive play is currently allowed)
• Permits for outdoor sports

The branches of the Georgina Public Library are not specifically impacted by the provincial announcement and continue to offer in-person and curb-side pickup services.

Residents are reminded help stop the spread of COVID-19 by:

• Avoiding close contact with anyone other than those in your social circle
• Maintaining a physical distance of at least two meters from others
• Wearing a mask or face covering when out and about
• Washing your hands thoroughly and often
• Staying home if you’re sick, even with mild symptoms.
