ROAD CLOSURE: Avoid stretch of Kennedy Road north of Hwy. 7 in Markham Oct. 17

Temporary road closure from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday for railway crossing improvements

A full-day closure of Kennedy Road in Markham will be in effect Saturday, Oct. 17 while the Region makes railway crossing improvements between Austin Drive and Carlton Road.

Crews will be paving sections of the road on either side of the railway crossing to create a smooth transition for travellers.

To complete this work and ensure safety, Kennedy Road will be closed at the railway crossing 80 metres north of Austin Drive from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A detour route will be in place and signs will guide travellers around the closure.

York Region will provide advance notice, whenever possible, if work is rescheduled due to weather conditions or delays related to COVID-19 Public Health guidelines.
