Experience Culture Days with live streams, digital access and virtual events on now until Oct. 25.
AURORA
Explore a world of taste with Aurora’s online cooking demonstrations. Follow along and learn to make French baguettes, Italian risotto, Greek spanakopita and Lithuanian pancakes.
The Aurora Public Library is also hosting the York Chamber Ensemble for a special virtual concert.
MARKHAM
The Markham Arts Council is hosting a number of livestreamed events, from Indian dance fusion and learning a traditional healing dance to calligraphy writing and the annual spoken word festival to an online word tattoo exhibit and unplugged concert featuring up and coming local musicians.
NEWMARKET
Discover the stories behind popular cultural dishes with local professional chefs as they share their cultures and connections to food. Hosted by York Region Food Network, the stories feature African, Caribbean, Southern and Indigenous cuisines.
Along with food stories, hear written stories read by a number of York Region authors.
RICHMOND HILL
The Richmond Hill Public Library is hosting Culture Dose, a collection of livestreamed events from one-act plays, puppet theatre and COVID-19 poetry readings to origami fun, harp harmony and music trivia. The curated collection features the works and words of local artists.
VAUGHAN
Celebrate your love of pasta with a city-wide special pasta menu at participating restaurants. Proceeds from select pasta dishes will support the Mackenzie Health Foundation.
Vaughan is also hosting a slew of cultural dance events, from Bollywood and Latina to ballet and jazz.
