Front counters at provincial courts reopen in Newmarket, Richmond Hill

York Region’s two Provincial Offences Act Courts have resumed in-person front counter services.
The Newmarket Court has relocated to its new location at 17150 Yonge St. It was previously located at the Tannery at 465 Davis Dr.
The Richmond Hill Court continues to offer services at 50 High Tech Rd.

Many services do not require a physical visit to a courthouse. The public is encouraged to use available online services when possible to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Courtrooms remain closed and all other in-person Provincial Offences Act (POA) court matters scheduled from Monday, March 16, 2020 through to and including Friday, Oct. 16, 2020 are adjourned and will be rescheduled to a later date at the discretion of the Ontario Court of Justice. If a matter is scheduled or an individual has been summoned during this time period, there is no need to attend court. A notice of a new court date will be sent by mail to the address on file with the court. Please advise the courthouse of any changes to your contact information.
An individual who has received an Offence Notice (also known as “ticket”) has until Dec. 1, 2020 to select one of the options printed on the back of the Offence Notice. Option 2, pleading guilty before a Justice of the Peace, is currently not available.
