Hospice Vaughan was chosen by the Tim Hortons store owners of Vaughan, Woodbridge, Richmond Hill, Maple and Thornhill to receive the proceeds of this year’s smile cookie sales.

The Tim Hortons annual smile cookie campaign runs from Sept. 14 to 20 and supports local charities and organizations across Canada.

Part of the launch of smile cookie week involved participating in an ultimate cookie decorating challenge, to see who could decorate a cookie with the most speed, talent and creativity.

Tim Hortons Smile Cookies are available at participating restaurants for $1 each (plus tax).

The full $1 from each cookie sold in participating stores, will go toward the kitchen in the new Hospice Vaughan, Mario and Nick Cortellucci Hospice Palliative Care Centre of Excellence set to open later this year. The new health care facility will help the hospice to serve more clients, their families and caregivers with the community programs, alongside our new residential hospice suites to provide end of life care, close to home for individuals and their families.

Hospice care is an essential service that meets the growing demand for compassionate, quality care — filling a significant health gap as well as supporting mental health and bereavement needs. During this pandemic, Hospice Vaughan continues to support the community, adapting programming and services and ensuring care during illness and after through grief and loss.
