Sunday drives are off the table.
The city announced Tuesday that a large swath of Yonge St. -- from Davenport Rd. to Queen’s Quay -- will close the last two Sundays in September as part of the ActiveTO program.
Established in May, ActiveTO closes certain city thoroughfares to vehicular traffic, so-called “quiet streets,” to allow residents to get outside in a socially-distant manner.
Crews will begin closing the 3.6 km. stretch of Yonge at 8 a.m. on Sept. 20 and Sept. 27, re-opening the road by 3 p.m. each day.
