Those hoping to enjoy splashing around in the water feature at Riverwalk Commons before the weather turns too cold are going to be disappointed after the town was forced to close the popular spot earlier than planned due to a mechanical problem.
JUST THE FACTS
- The town announced Sept. 10 that it was closing the popular spot, officially known as the Tim Hortons Water Feature, early so it had time to investigate and fix the issue to ensure the outdoor ice rink season beginning in November isn’t disrupted.
- The splash pad, at 200 Doug Duncan Dr., was closed earlier in the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic but reopened June 26.
- Residents who haven’t had enough of summer water fun can visit the Frank Stronach Spray Pad and the Rogers Spray Pad until the end of September.
- The Frank Stronach pad is located at 850 Memorial Circle, southeast of Mulock Drive and Leslie Street.
- The Rogers pad is located at 170 London Rd.
