What changes would you like to see in Richmond Hill in the next two years?

What do you expect your representatives to do over the second half of the term?

The City of Richmond Hill wants to hear from you.

The city currently is developing a strategic plan for 2020-2022 and invites residents and businesses to provide input through an online survey.

The new strategic plan is expected to guide the city’s planning, development and budgeting over the next two years with a focus on meeting the evolving needs of the community in the post-COVID-19 era.

The public will have until Sept. 21 to respond to the short survey available at RichmondHill.ca/StrategicPlan.

The five-question survey will help the city identify priorities, and the actions and initiatives needed to take in order to recover and thrive.

The questions touch upon a wide range of topics, including diversity and inclusion, arts and culture, as well as tax and revenues.

“This year, everything has changed. It’s important our plans change as well to reflect our current situation,” Mayor Dave Barrow said.

The final two-year plan is expected to be shared at a public council meeting before the end of the year.

Earlier in 2009, Richmond Hill created the Strategic Plan: A Plan for People, A Plan for Change, which set out goals and objectives that have been undertaken over a series of implementation plans to 2019.

The 2009 plan was developed through a public engagement process known as People Plan Richmond Hill, of which thousands of residents participated.
