Link427 will permanently close York Regional Road 99, also known as Highway 427 Extension between Highway 7 and Zenway Boulevard, in the northbound and southbound directions, on Saturday, Aug. 8.
JUST THE FACTS
- York Regional Road 99 will be permanently closed to all traffic on Saturday, Aug. 8.
- The closure will allow for the construction of the Highway 427 Expansion project in its place.
- The Highway 427 Expansion project will extend the highway 6.6 km, from Highway 7 to Major Mackenzie Drive and widen the existing highway to eight lanes between Finch Avenue and Highway 7.
- Starting Aug. 8, all northbound and southbound traffic on Highway 427 will have to enter and exit at the Highway 7 interchange as there will no longer be access to Zenway Boulevard from Highway 427.
- Upon the opening of the Highway 427 Expansion project, there will not be an interchange at Zenway Boulevard. Traffic volumes on surrounding roadways are expected to temporarily increase as a result of the closure of York Regional Road 99.
