The transportation ministry's reconstruction of Hwy. 404 between Hwy. 401 and Hwy. 7 is underway and will include nightly closures during the construction season.
JUST THE FACTS:
- Work began at the end of May and is expected to be completed in 2023.
- The massive undertaking includes the Sheppard Avenue East underpass, John Street culvert, CNR Subway Bridge and the culvert south of Hwy. 407.
- The project consists of grading, drainage, hot mix paving, electrical, ATMS and structural work.
- Motorists are being advised of nightly lane closures to accommodate the work.
- LEA Consulting Ltd., located at 625 Cochrane Dr. in Markham, is heading up the contract.
