Pierre Elliott Trudeau statue in Vaughan park vandalized again

York Regional Police is appealing for witnesses after a statue of Pierre Elliott Trudeau in a Vaughan park was vandalized yesterday for the second time.
Vandals used white spray paint on the statue at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Park at 60 Promenade Circle in Thornhill, according to police, who responded to a report of vandalism on Sunday, Aug. 16, shortly before 11 a.m.
Vaughan Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua expressed his disappointment on his Twitter account, saying the acts "do not reflect the values Vaughan stands for."
The same statue was reported vandalized with black spray paint Thursday, June 18.
Investigators are asking witnesses and anyone with information or video surveillance footage in that area to come forward.
