WHAT'S  GOING ON HERE?: Tamarac Trail in Aurora gets refreshed

      The  region, together with the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority and the  Town of Aurora, are retrofitting the Tamarac Green Park stormwater pond in an  effort to reduce the amount of phosphorus flowing into Lake Simcoe. 
      JUST THE  FACTS:
      
        - Work started in March and the  project is expected to be complete by the end of 2020;      
 
      
      
        - Construction includes: tree  removal, erosion and sediment control, installing a clay liner and grading the  site;
 
      
      
        - The completed project will include  a reconstructed stormwater management pond with improved water quality and  quantity controls; reconstructed trails and adding about 180 new native trees  to the area;      
 
      
      
        - Tamarac Trail and Tamarac Green  Park will be closed during construction, as well as the sidewalk on the south  side of Henderson Drive between McCellan Way and Tamarac Trail;
 
      
      
        - There will be temporary lane  restrictions along Henderson Drive in the area during construction;      
 
      
      
        - The budget for the project is $4.5  million.
