City of Vaughan temporarily lays off about 1,100 workers

The City of Vaughan lays off more than 1,000 workers as it announces its facilities are staying closed until the new year. In a statement from the City, “the pandemic has led to facility closures as well as the cancellation of several programs.” Approximately 1,100 employees are being temporarily laid off due to a lack of work in some departments.
