Whitchurch-Stouffville has lifted the town-wide burn ban that has been in place since July 9 due to the hot and dry conditions.

Active burn permits are no longer suspended. Burn permits will continue to be issued upon request.

The town urges residents to continue to use caution if they plan to do any open-air burning and follow the regulatory bylaw.

The ban had restricted all open-air burning, including recreational fires, in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
