The Georgina Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Discover Georgina scavenger hunt.

Here’s what you need to know about the drive-by event.

WHAT IS IT?

The Discover Georgina scavenger hunt takes teams throughout Georgina, discovering the town from Ravenshoe Road to Lake Drive, and from Keswick to Pefferlaw. The goal is to find as many items on the list and collect as many points as possible within three hours.

WHEN IS IT AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The town-wide scavenger hunt is Aug. 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required.

The cost is $30 plus HST per car.

WHO CAN PLAY?

Anyone.

This is an all-ages event where participants will be required to complete varying tasks at each location.

There is a minimum of two participants per team -- a driver and teammate to record and post responses to the Discover Georgina Facebook thread.

Each registered team will receive a Georgina swag bag complete with snacks for the ride.

HOW TO PLAY?

Each team will be assigned a Facebook thread, and before the hunt begins, your team must take a picture together and post it in the assigned thread.

Scavenger hunt questions will be posted at 1 p.m. sharp with 40 to 50 tasks to complete, including taking pictures at select locations or answering location-specific questions.

HOW DO WE WIN?

The team with the most points at the end will be the winners.

Each location is worth a different amount of points -- the more tasks, the more points your team gets.

But how many points a particular task is worth will not be shared until the horn sounds and the hunt is over.

There are five mandatory stops that are required to complete the hunt.
