MAP: WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?: Woodbine Avenue near Newmarket gets a  facelift 
      Construction along Woodbine Avenue between Mount Albert Road and  Hwy. 404 continues into the fall

      York  Region is making improvements to a large stretch of Woodbine Avenue.
      Just  the facts:
      
        - Road work is being done along  Woodbine Avenue from south of Mount Albert Road, north to Hwy. 404;      
 
      
      
        - Construction started in May and is  expected to be complete by the fall;
 
      
      
        - Road improvements include:  removing and replacing the current asphalt; building two entrances for East  Gwillimbury’s operations yard; and replacing old culvert infrastructure;      
 
      
      
        - Intersections at Mount Albert Road  and Queensville Sideroad will also be updated with new oversized traffic lights  and signs, pedestrian signals and push buttons, upgraded walkways and tactile  plates at each corner to ensure safe crossing;
 
      
      
        - Woodbine Avenue will be  intermittently reduced to one lane in both north and south directions Monday to  Saturday to accommodate construction;      
 
      
      
        - On average, this section of  Woodbine Avenue carries about 18,500 vehicles daily;
 
      
      
        - The cost of this project is about  $7.5 million.
