Drivers should expect delays between King Road and Westgate Boulevard

Summer typically means lots of construction work and road closures along major roadways in York Region. That will certainly be the case in the heart of King Township this year.

Work on the East Humber River Bridge on Jane Street, just north of King Road, has reduced traffic to one lane in the area.

JUST THE FACTS:

• Construction work on the bridge started in the spring and is expected to be finished this fall.

• The road will remain open during construction, but the number of lanes has been reduced from two to one in a short stretch between King Road and Westgate Boulevard. A temporary traffic signal has been installed to manage traffic until construction is complete

• Drivers should also take note that construction work is also being done on the King Horn Bridge on King Road, just west of Jane Street. That work will require brief road closures and lane reductions during the summer months.
