Black Lives Matter rallies planned in York Region, Bradford June 6-7
Community groups, residents organize events to take place in Aurora, Keswick, Bradford West Gwillimbury

Three peaceful protests in support of Black Lives Matter are planned take place in York Region June 6 and 7.
On June 6, a Black Lives Matter march in Kewsick is scheduled to start at Walmart, 23550 Woodbine Ave. The march will travel on the sidewalk on the west side of Woodbine, from Walmart to Zhers.
There will also be a Black Lives Matter march in Whitchurch Stouffville at 2 p.m., set to begin at the Petro Canada located at 10th Line and Main Street, ending at Hwy. 48 and Main Street. “No violence, no hate, spread love and awareness,” the flyer reads.
On June 7, a Black Lives Matter peaceful rally is set to take place from 2 to 5 p.m. in Aurora. According to the Facebook group called Black Lives Matter -- Town of Aurora, the group will create a human chain, each person standing six-feet apart, along Wellington Street, with meetup taking place at the intersection of Yonge Street and Wellington.
"We will be showcasing our signs and voices to help spread awareness," the group page reads.
Due to COVID-19, participants are asked to wear face masks, and stand six-feet-apart.
Just outside York Region, on June 6, a "peaceful assembly for love, unity, hope and change", will take place in Bradford West Gwillimbury at library, 425 Holland St. W., from 5 to 6 p.m., according to the flyer.
The protest was organized by Bradford community groups "who want to see change", such as The Bradford Women’s+ Group and BWG Diversity Action Group, iLead Youth Centre, and Making Change Across Simcoe County.
