The Tim Horton’s Skating and Water Feature at Riverwalk Commons in Newmarket has reopened as of June 26.
The hours of operation for the Water Feature will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Washrooms will be open for general use and hand washing.
For the safety of the public, the town reminds residents to maintain physical distancing of about 2 m away from other people, and to not have gatherings of more than 10 people, as set out by the province.
In the case where a water feature is busy and physical distancing is not possible, residents are to come back at a later time.
Residents are to use extra caution while using these outdoor recreational amenities, as high-touch points such as benches and chairs are not being cleaned frequently.
If it is found that rules are not being followed, thus risking the assurance of safety, the town said closing the amenity will be considered an option.
