Each year, the City of Vaughan recognizes National Public Works Week during the third week of May. This year's theme was “the Rhythm of Public Works” -- every community has a rhythm, a heartbeat that reflects its tempo of life, and Public Works harmoniously works together to serve the community. The team keeps Vaughan’s rhythm moving by orchestrating winter maintenance, safe drinking water, clean parks, well-maintained roads, trees and shrub beds, and safe cycling and walking pathways.

Their dedication is reflected in the city-building priorities of the Council-approved 2018-2022 Term of Council Service Excellence Strategic Plan. Improving operational performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement are central to the mission of Vaughan’s Public Works employees. From waste collection and water and wastewater services to city-building and parks maintenance, their achievements continue to receive national recognition for innovative thinking, the development of new best practices and a commitment to Service Excellence.

The City’s Public Works team continues to go above and beyond to provide Vaughan with essential services that safeguard and enhance the quality of life in this growing city.
