Even though during quarantine we’ve been able to shop online, there’s nothing like a shopping day at the mall. Now that Ontario is starting to gradually reopen and some parts are entering Stage 2, shopping malls in approved areas have been given the green light to reopen their doors and that includes Vaughan Mills.
Vaughan Mills is reopening its doors on Friday, June 19 but be prepared for a shopping experience that’s different than what you’re used to.
The mall’s website reads, “The health and safety of our visitors, tenants, their employees and their customers are our number one priority. We are committed to maintaining Vaughan Mills to the industry’s highest cleanliness standards, and we comply with the protocols and guidelines established by public health and governmental authorities.”
To ensure everyone’s safety, hand soap dispensers and hand sanitizer dispensers will be available at designated locations and the mall has implemented rigorous sanitization procedures for washrooms, tables, door handles, and other high-touch surfaces.
Seating in the food court and any common area seating will be closed, and plexi-shields will be installed at the Guest Services counter.
Vaughan Mills will also be monitoring customer traffic within the centre to support health and safety with arrows on floors to promote social distancing.
In regard to what stores you can expect to shop, health and safety regulations for workplaces require stores and retailers to meet certain criteria before they’re allowed to reopen to the public, including the ones inside malls. This means that it’s best to call ahead and confirm the store you want to visit is open before you head over.
According to BlogTO, the following stores are open:
If you’re still wary about venturing inside the mall to shop, know that curbside pickup is still available at designated entrances.
