WHAT’S GOING ON HERE? Implementing parking restrictions on Bridgewater Drive

Richmond Hill is considering permanently restricting parking along the west side of Bridgewater Drive

A parking byaw amendment will be brought to Richmond Hill council before the end of summer to permanently restrict parking along the west side of Bridgewater Drive, from Stouffville Road to its southerly limit.

Just the Facts:

• Bikers and hikers often use Bridgewater to park their vehicles near the Jefferson Forest trail system.

• On-street parking on both sides of the street has resulted in insufficient pavement width to accommodate emergency vehicle access and two-way traffic flow.

• Temporary "No Parking" sings have been deployed on Bridgewater to ensure that emergency vehicles and two-way traffic can be accommodated.

• Permanent signage will be installed once the bylaw amendment is approved by council and emergency temporary signage will be removed.
