The Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library won’t open for pickup and delivery on May 19th. While the Government of Ontario’s announced that public libraries may start such services on Tuesday, the town said it is delaying an immediate launch of pickup and delivery until processes and measures have been fully developed to ensure our staff and community’s health.

“We have been actively reviewing government recommended guidelines as they are determined, and we have ordered new and necessary supplies. We are committed to ensuring the library reopens only when we have appropriate safety protocols,” Margaret Wallace, WSPL Chief Executive Officer said. “The safety of our staff and community is of utmost importance. We miss all our customers, and we continue to provide a wide range of virtual and digital services and resources while taking all necessary precautions in our phased reopening.”

Due dates have been extended for all items checked out and the outdoor drop boxes remain closed.

For any questions or concerns, staff are available from Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please call the library at 905-642-7323 and leave a voice mail or email wsplinfo@wsplibrary.ca. For more information and updates, please visit wsplibrary.ca.

The town laid-off 15 part-time workers from the library March 13 as a result of the closure of the facility due to COVID-19.
