East Gwillimbury residents can now enjoy free internet access outside of the Civic Centre, Holland Landing Community Centre, and Ross Family Complex.

The town has installed new Wi-Fi hot spots in Holland, Sharon and Mount Albert.

Signage and barricades that identify the location of the Wi-Fi access areas within each parking lot have been installed at each facility. Those interested in connecting to the Wi-Fi hot spots must park in one of the designated parking spots to successfully connect to the internet to ensure social distancing.

“We know that internet connectivity in EG can be challenging for some residents and it is our hope that this new service will provide residents with the access they need during these challenging times," Mayor Virginia Hackson said. "With many residents staying home, it is important that we provide any assistance that we can and providing this internet access will hopefully be helpful to our residents.”

The new Wi-Fi hot spots can be accessed within 12 metres at the following locations:
