Canada's Wonderland may be closed, but it's still finding a way to brighten our days during these difficult times. Last night, the theme park transformed into a glowing purple beacon of hope to show support for the hospitality industry. The eerily empty rides could be seen for miles as they shone through the night. While Canada's Wonderland's purple park looked haunting, it reminds us all to stay strong and united.

Hospitality is one of the industries most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Restaurants, bars, and other venues are closed indefinitely, with some never to open again.

Last night, businesses and attractions in Vaughan turned purple to show love and support to the hospitality industry and workers.

The initiative is part of the #hospitalitystrong movement, which asks major landmarks, attractions, and businesses to light up purple.

Canada's Wonderland was one of several venues to participate in the movement.

The illuminated park looked almost haunting as empty rollercoasters and rides glowed through the darkness.

The amusement park shared images of the purple attractions in an Instagram post.

"Today, we join other attractions and hotels in the city of Vaughan to show we’re #HospitalityStrong," the post read.

"This initiative, led by the #GTHA, asks hotels and iconic venues in #Vaughan to light their properties in purple in support of those in the hospitality industry affected by COVID-19. #VaughanStrong"

Across Ontario, other iconic landmarks are turning purple to spread love and brightness during difficult times.

The CN Tower, Niagara Falls, Casa Loma, and Bisha Hotel have all lit up in solidarity.

"Solidarity is about love. Solidarity is about unity," the Bisha Hotel shared in an Instagram post.

"BISHA Hotel Toronto lights up again to support all hospitality workers of Toronto. You are the heartbeat of our industry and we love you. We will get through this. Together. Stronger."

While this movement focuses on hospitality, venues are also finding ways to make things brighter for everyone during the pandemic.

The CN Tower has been hosting nightly light shows, and buildings across the 6ix have been illumiated with hearts to show love.
