Development could see 13 apartment buildings, 370 townhouses built in Oak Ridges

As the COVID-19 pandemic puts a halt to a slew of events, services and businesses, some major land development projects are continuing to move ahead in Richmond Hill.

A high-density residential development has been proposed on lands south of Bloomington Road and east of Yonge Street in the Oak Ridges area.

JUST THE FACTS:

LOCATION: 13515 and 13715 Yonge Street and 53 St Laurent Drive.

APPLICANT: Baif Developments Limited.

APPLICATIONS: The applications seek to permit a high-density residential development comprised of 13 apartment buildings ranging in height from eight to 12 storeys with a total of 1,527 apartment dwelling units, 370 townhouse dwelling units, and blocks for park, stormwater management, environmental protection, environmental restoration linkage, buffer, road and road widening purposes on the subject lands.

STATUS: “Complete” development applications have been received by the City of Richmond Hill pursuant to the Planning Act. The applications have been circulated to City departments and external agencies for review and comment.
