Newmarket’s Riverwalk Commons (200 Doug Duncan Dr.) and Fred A. Lundy Bridge (Water Street) will be lit blue nightly to support all frontline and essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. This will continue until the state of emergency is lifted.

“I want to extend my sincerest appreciation and thanks to all frontline and essential workers who are helping to keep our community, and other communities around the world healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Mayor John Taylor. “These individuals are going into work every day, risking their lives. Lighting the Riverwalk Commons and Fred A. Lundy bridge blue is a way to show them we care during these difficult times.”

This initiative supports the town’s #StandApartTogether campaign that aims to shine a light on Newmarket’s bright side and spread positivity during the unprecedented COVID-19 challenges Newmarket faces as a community.
