The Executive Director of Elspeth Heyworth Centre for Women, Sunder Singh, cordially invited residents, supporters, the business community and the people of Vaughan to join in celebrating International Women's Day recently. Held on March 2nd from 9am - Noon, the event, hosted by Elspeth Heyworth Centre for Women and held at the Paradise Banquet Hall, was a memorable morning filled with speeches, laughter and celebration. It featured a continental breakfast, inspiring words by guest speakers, including keynote speaker Tahirih Naylor, music by Smith & Dragoman and dancing by the Nancy Campbell Academy. Elvira Caria was the Master of Ceremonies and both Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and EHCW Executive Director Sunder Singh shared comments as part of the proceedings. An event highlight included the presentation of a $20,000 cheque to the EHCW from RBC! Thank you to the many women (and men!) who came out in celebration of International Women's Day!
