Four kilometres north of the nascent Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, another pocket of density in Vaughan is emerging in the vicinity of the Jane Street and Rutherford Road intersection where a few projects are soon to bring increased vitality to the area. One such development to the south of the intersection, Park Avenue Place from the Solmar Development Corporation, is set to eventually include three Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed towers.

Construction has been underway on the complex since early 2018. Roughly two years into the work, the podiums for the first two towers of 20 and 23 storeys now form a prominent street wall above Jane Street, and tower floors are beginning to be formed above.

The towers' small footprint compared to the size of podiums, and their repeating floor plates mean that work can climb climb into the sky more quickly. The shorter 63 metre-high south tower is now having its second tower floor formed, while work on the taller 72 metre-high north tower, pictured below, has reached its fifth tower floor.

Cladding installation was first spotted at the beginning of the new year, and limestone-colour precast concrete panels now covered the entirety of the north podium, but are a few levels behind on the south podium.

Glazing at the base of the north tower's podium has begun now too, the lowest two levels now partially enclosed by window wall of dark-tinted glazing framed in aluminum mullions.

Upon completion, the first two buildings at Park Avenue Place will bring 568 new housing units to the area.
