While thousands of families are confined to the home, the Vaughan library, in the suburbs of Toronto, takes the opportunity to increase its programming and online services for the Francophone community.
In recent years, employees of the Vaughan municipal library have noticed a steady increase in the demand for services in French within the community.
Despite the fact that branches remain closed with the COVID-19 pandemic, storytelling hours and activities in French will be offered each week, by video, on the library's Facebook page.
Video series have already started to be published in other languages, English and Mandarin.
Francophiles who wish to continue practicing the language will be able to join discussion groups every two weeks by videoconference.
In addition, subscribers can now consult material from Cantook Station, which offers a selection of thousands of digital books by French-Canadian authors.
