Canada Day Weekend in Stouffville just won't be the same this year.
The hordes that regularly pack the town for it's annual Strawberry Festival are going to have wait until next year.
"It is with heavy hearts that we will not be proceeding with the 2020 Whitchurch-Stouffville Strawberry Festival," the board for the festival said in statement.
The possibility of moving the festival to the fall, during Labour Day weekend, was explored but with so much uncertainty the board decided it was best to not proceed.
"We will miss each and everyone of you this summer and we are looking forward to seeing you next year. Mark your calendars -- July 1st to July 4th. We are already thinking of some amazing ideas to make 2021 extra special," the board's statement said.
The annual festival attracts more than 30,000 guests every year.
