The Regional Municipality of York is asking local businesses to donate any unused, unopened and unexpired supplies of personal protective equipment. The Region will work with our community health partners and share where the need is required.
Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increasing need for personal protective equipment, items crucial to the response for paramedics and first responders, local hospitals and staff working in long-term care and retirement homes.
“Health and safety is our top priority, especially for those on the front lines combating this pandemic,” said York Region Chairman and CEO Wayne Emmerson. “I am urging local businesses to help keep our communities safe by donating personal protective equipment they have not currently in use.”

“We have strong partners within the York Region business community, and I’m echoing the call from our local hospitals and health care professionals to share any of these materials,” added Chairman Emmerson. “Let’s work together to further support those working to protect us.”
York Region businesses can visit the Ontario Government’s recently launched new website Ontario Together to learn how businesses and their employees can work with the province to meet the challenges of COVID-19. This includes removing barriers and allowing Ontario's manufacturing sector to redeploy efforts toward the production of essential equipment like ventilators, masks and swabs.
